Well its been too long since I have posted on this. The school semester has been pretty busy and I'm glad its over with. The dates for the mission have changed. It will now be in May after the spring semester gets out. The pastors in Congo will be in a conference out of country when we were planning to go in March. I turned in my application and first deposit last week. I still have a ways to go for all of the funding. I have a potential fundraiser in the works with O'Charleys. I just need to talk to the manager and find out what is going on with it. I completed the the introductory training that PC3 was requiring for all of their missions. It really open my eyes on spiritual preparation and how I should be praying for this mission. I was fasting one day out of every week for the mission but it was becoming just another thing in my week and losing its importance so I stopped it. I will fast more for this mission but closer to it. I am getting excited about the mission and what God has in store for it. As for team meetings I will not know anything until after the first of the year. So until then I hope you all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! God Bless!

Late Introduction
So i realized that anyone who reads this without speaking to me first or reading my support letter will not really know whats going on with this blog. My name is Christopher Dowdy and I have created this blog because I plan on going on a mission trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo from March 4th - 15th 2010. This blog will cover everything from the process of me getting things together and gaining support from others. It is here for everyone who wants to be a part of this experience to see where God takes me. I would appreciate all of your prayers and if anyone who is just following this wants to make a contribution please send me an email at ccdowdy@gmail.com and I will give you all the necessary information. Thank you all and God bless!
also worth mention
My friend Travis told me today that he has decided to go on the mission as well. I know it wasn't an overnight decision for him and I trust that God will provide a way for him to go if it is His will. I am excited at the though of both of us going on this mission because I believe God put him in my life for a specific reason and I am looking forward to grow together with him during this time.
Support letter, application and other things
I believe I have finished the support letter for the trip! I still need to finish filling out the application, but i have everything else together for it. Its been a difficult week because I want to drop everything I am doing to work on this but I still have to honor work and school. Satan has been using everything from laziness to just plain doubt to keep me from working on it and the more I realize the more determined I am to accomplish the tasks I need to go in order to go. I know if God wants me there that I will go but I have to fill out the applications and obtain medical records and ask for support. Why would God choose me to go on this mission if I wasn't going to honor His decision?
